With an intention to achieve sustainable improvements in the health status among the vulnerable rural community, HDP organized and sponsored a free medical camp for the farmers of Dawali and Balapat villages on 26th and 27th September, respectively. The beneficiaries of the free medical camp included the farmers engaged in organic cotton farming for HDP. Dawali and Balapat are the two villages in Burhanpur District of Madhya Pradesh, India where HDP manages its organic cotton projects.
In the camp, HDP got its farmers’ health checked up by a team of qualified doctors of Dayasagar Hospital, Kusumkot, Amravati District of Maharashtra.
A total of 130 patients benefited from the camp at Dawali and 112 patients at the Balapat Medical camp. According to the doctors attending the patients in the camp, majority of the patients suffered from diseases like Anemia, Conjunctivitis, Women Flock, Malaria, Upper Respiratory Infections, Bronchial Asthma, Gastro-Intestinal Infections, Arthritis and Tuberculosis. There were also patients suffering from Diabetics, Heart Diseases, and Neurological Diseases. Many patients are also suffering from Cataract and Visual Problems. The doctors gave spot treatment to patients suffering from minor health problems and others were referred to the Hospital. HDP also provided medicines to them for free. |
